Republicans in Congress barely took a step out of line, and Trump has immediately thrown a temper tantrum. After the passing of the War Powers Resolution, which is largely symbolic, Trump has stated his refusal to sign into law a bipartisan housing bill that Republicans are eager to use as a congressional win. That is, unless Republicans cave to his various demands and grovel beneath him in regret for their actions.

With the recent inflation surge, largely attributed to the war with Iran, we're on track to hit a new high since 2023 at 3.4% annulized. Eyes will quickly turn to Kevin M. Warsh, Trump's newly selected Chairman of the Federal Reserve. Long has Trump raged against the Fed's interest hikes, but with inflation still well beyond the 2% target, Warsh's hand may be forced. And if it's not, we very well may be in for a bumpy ride.

In the aftermath of the fall of Roe v. Wade, abortion numbers have increased largely due to the successful efforts of blue states to protect the procedure and the availability of mail prescriptions. Anti-Abortion activists have reacted to this by continuing to vilify women, starting a discussion around criminal liability for women who have abortions. At this point in time, legislative momentum, at both the state and national levels, hasn't yet followed the discussion.

The Trump administration's changes to the SNAP program, expanding work requirements and excluding certain immigrants from applying, have already caused massive losses in benefits across the country. Arizona, having implemented the requirements early, has seen a drastic 53% benefit loss affecting a huge swath of its population. Other states that are just beginning to implement the new requirements are also seeing double-digit enrollment losses. All while food costs continue to rise.
