Federal judge strikes down HUD’s homelessness policy shift

Homelessness legislation and policy within the US are long overdue, but the Trump Administration's changes cannot be taken in good faith. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the new administration has made major policy changes to shift away from a "Housing First" approach, looking to instead distribute funds towards programs with proven results. While any examination of U.S. federal and State policy towards homelessness should be welcomed, we cannot trust the Trump Administration's HUD appointee to move forward in good faith -- rather than just mindless budget slashing.
